1. Who we are
MadNomads (madnomads.in) is an Indian marketplace operated by the entity named in our Terms & Conditions. We help travellers discover offbeat stays and experiences across India, and we let independent providers list and manage those experiences.
2. What we collect
- Account data: name, email, phone number, password hash (managed by our auth provider).
- Profile data: avatar, preferred language, traveller type.
- Booking data: stays / experiences booked, dates, guest count, total paid, refund history.
- Provider data: business name, PAN, GST, address, KYC documents, payout bank details (encrypted).
- Payment data: we do not store card or UPI details. Razorpay handles those directly.
- Device / usage: IP address, user agent, page views, cookies for session and analytics.
3. How we use it
- To run your bookings, payouts to providers, and refunds.
- To send transactional email (booking confirmations, refund notifications) and, with consent, marketing email.
- To prevent fraud and enforce our Terms.
- To improve the product, with aggregated analytics.
4. Who we share it with
- Providers: when you book, your name, contact phone, and check-in details are shared with the host.
- Payment processor: Razorpay receives data necessary to process the transaction.
- Service vendors: Supabase (database, auth), Resend (email), Vercel (hosting). Each is bound by their own privacy commitments.
- Authorities: when required by valid Indian legal process.
- We do not sell your data.
5. Your rights
- Access, correct, or export your data via your account dashboard.
- Request deletion of your account by contacting support; certain records (e.g. completed bookings) may be retained for legal and accounting purposes.
- Opt out of marketing email at any time via the unsubscribe link.
6. Cookies
We use first-party cookies for authentication (session refresh) and to remember your preferred language. We may add anonymised analytics cookies in the future; you'll be asked for consent first.
7. Data retention
Bookings, invoices, and KYC records are retained for at least 7 years to meet Indian tax and AML obligations. Other data is retained while your account is active and for 30 days after deletion.
8. Children
MadNomads is not directed at children under 18. Travellers must be 18+ to create an account and book.
9. Changes
We will email registered users about material changes to this policy. The current version is always at this URL.
